Controversial media personality, Okatakyie Afrifa has brought to the limelight what triggered his decision to say bye to Angel FM.

The loudmouth media personality made the disclosure when he appeared as a guest on “Good Evening Ghana” hosted by Paul Adom Otchere on Metro TV which Ghanacelebrities.com monitored.

Speaking during the interview, the media personality disclosed that he was not sacked by his former boss as it was reported earlier.

Okatakyie Afrifa claims he willingly resigned when he felt that there was an external force that determined what he should say and what he shouldn’t.

Narrating the whole story, Okatakyie Afrifa stated that even though he is a staunch NPP member, when it comes to criticizing, he does not care whether the person involved is an NPP or an NDC member.

He sighted instances where he continuously lambasted the former president, President Akufo Addo anytime he felt the President was going astray.

According to Okatakyie Afrifa, he criticized President Akufo Addo for the 8 years he served the country and neither the president nor any NPP bigwig threatened him.

Okatakyie claims the same cannot be said about the NDC government as he claims they are intolerant and see anyone who criticizes them as an outcast and of treacherous behaviors.

Okatakyie Afrifa stated that wanting the betterment of Ghana rather than putting the NDC leaders into fetters, making them call his former boss, Dr. Kweku Oteng to lambast and cry to him for his dismissal.

Even before the NDC took over power, Okatakyie Afrifa claims the president among other leaders of the NDC had called his former boss on several occasions to tell him to get him sacked as soon as possible.

He noted that after the NDC took over power, he foresaw that it was either he does not criticize them, or, lose his work at Angel FM.

After thinking thoroughly about it, Okatakyie Afrifa disclosed that he had no option but to choose to resign over being a spectator.

“Okay, so I don’t want anything that puts me under some level of control which I cannot express myself. So before the election, I am sure you know I was going ballistic on any person that I think, I mean former president Akufo Addo and president Mahama anybody that I think is not doing well. But these our brothers that are in government they are an emotional bunch of people who cannot take criticisms”, he said

He added “So they had been calling my former boss, Kweku Oteng. They will call him and lambast and cry and cry and cry. So after the elections when we had quite a few engagements I just told them that I wanted to resign and I resigned”.
