U.S.-based Ghanaian political and social commentator, Twene Jonas, has slammed President John Dramani Mahama over his governance so far, describing him as a failure.

Jonas said the President has failed on the issues he was elected on, such as tackling illegal mining (galamsey) and the power crisis (dumsor), and is focusing on needless matters such as removing the Chief Justice and distributing sanitary pads.

In a video sighted by GhanaCelebrities.com, Twene Jonas relentlessly slammed the President. “John Mahama has failed…Illegal mining is all over the country, dumsor is ongoing back to back. He has failed,” he said.

Jonas said no matter what crimes the Chief Justice is alleged to have committed, it’s not the President’s job to suspend her, but rather she should be hauled before court.

“When actor Koo Fori was arrested for alleged fraud, he wasn’t sent to the President because that’s not his job,” Jonas said.

The New York-based content creator said he is only speaking the truth and not attempting to be controversial. He said that when Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, performed admirably in reducing the dollar rate, he praised him.

Twene Jonas praises Finance Minister

In a recent video, Twene Jonas heaped praises on Ghana’s Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, for his hard work in bringing down the rate of the dollar against the cedi.

The dollar, after years of running amok against the cedi, has seen a downturn in 2025, currently trading at around Ghc 13.

Reacting to the news, Twene Jonas said the Finance Minister deserves praise for his hard work so far. He called on former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to visit Ato Forson for tutorials on how to handle an economy.

He said Bawumia is only adept at speaking ‘big’ English but is a failure when it comes to being an economist; therefore, he needs tutorials from Forson on how to properly do his job.
