The CEO of Obah Cheddar comedy, Daniel Oppong known widely in the entertainment fraternity as Grandpa Dosty has revealed what triggered his decision to name his student Cheddar Bell Boy.

Speaking in an interview with Akoto Mensah on Asentenapa Akoto Mensah, a content creator who doubles as a professional teacher revealed how their viral comedy skit started.

According to him, he was made to do part-time at Vision Academy, last year, after it became extremely difficult for the school to get a teacher to handle Mathematics and Computing.

He noted that on his first day at school, he asked the students to state what they aspire to become in the future and why that profession.

While many disclosed they wanted to become teachers, doctors, journalists, and engineers, just to mention a few white-collar Jobs, when it got to Cheddar, privately known as Asante Emmanuel, the Computing master revealed the JHS 1 student stated that he wanted to become an actor.

Daniel Oppong noted that had it not been for his fastness, he would have swallowed an unknown insect because he was taken aback at the fact that among all the numerous white-collar jobs, Cheddar would say he wanted to become an actor.

On second thought, the computing master decided that he would start something with the young student to see if something good could come out of it.

Talking about what triggered his decision to name their skit “Obah Cheddar”, Grandpa Dosty stated that initially, the characters were two; Cheddar and Obah.

On why he gave Emmanuel Asante the pseudonym Cheddar, the young teacher revealed that at the time they started their skit, the election was approaching, and the name Cheddar was in the system, hence, they decided to use a name that could sell them better.

He however admitted that their skit has been so far successful, as he thanked everyone who supports them both in kind and in cash.
