Dancehall enigma, Shatta Wale chose Medikal as his favorite rapper when he was asked to choose between who is better between Medikal or Sarkodie.

The dancehall musician who claims to be a fan of rap music said that Medikal is his favorite because he doesn’t do music just for fun, but for commercial purposes.

“I like rap music so much, but I love rappers who understand the commercial aspect of rap and that is what Medikal does”, he said.

The controversial music disclosed that even though Medikal is his favorite rapper, he ranks Sarkodie as the best rapper.

“My favorite rapper is Medikal. His music is for Gen Z but if we are talking about the best of all time, I would give it to Sarkodie”, the musician said.

Shatta Wale is optimistic that Medikal is likely to succeed Sarkodie when the latter finally says good bye to music.

Shatta stated that many rappers in Ghana, both the upcoming and mainstream learn from Medikal, but because of pride, they refuse to admit it.

The “On God” Hitmaker said that Medikal will be able to succeed Sarkodie hands down. What Medikal does is what most of the boys learn. The way Medikal raps is how plenty of the boys also rap. It is just that we don’t speak the truth here”.

Reacting to why Medikal does ear-disturbing songs, Shatta Wale said that it is intentional.

According to Shatta Wale, Medikal is a very good rapper just like Lil Baby and Central Cee, however, Ghanaians like useless songs and since Medikal wants to enter the Ghanaian market, Shatta Wale claims he does what Ghanaians want.

“The way we have Lil Baby and Central C. Medikal is also on their level, just that we are in Ghana that is why he gives those lyrics for the Ghanaian market. If he doesn’t make his lyrics suit the Ghanaian market, he won’t eat”, Shatta Wale said.

Shatta Wale made these statements during an interview with a US-based Ghanaian fashion critic, Firestick.
