Isaac Adongo Instructs Bawumia to Learn from Ato Forson and Stop Making Noise – ‘It’s Embarrassing’

The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has called on former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to learn from current Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson and stop saying things out of ’empty knowledge’.

Adongo, speaking in an interview with GhOne TV, praised Ato Forson for the job he has done within three months of taking over the ‘mess’ Dr Bawumia left behind.

He opined that in any serious country, the former Vice President would be in hiding out of shame for the economic mismanagement his government burdened Ghanaians with for the eight years they were in power, while Bawumia was head of the ‘Economic Management Team’.

“In any serious country, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia should be in hiding. The disgrace you have given to this country, and to find this young man, Ato Forson, do the kind of job he’s done out of your mess in less than three months. You should be calling for a tea break with him to learn from him how this was done,” Adongo said.

He added that Bawumia should be accompanied to the meeting by the NPP’s two finance Ministers, Dr Amin Adams and Ken Ofori-Atta, who is currently outside the country ahead of a return to meet with the Office of the Special Prosecutor. Adongo proposed that Ofori-Atta should be promised safe passage to enable him to attend the proposed meeting.

“He shouldn’t even go alone, they should go in tow, he and (former Finance Minister) Amin. They should give Ken a safe passage, that there is a meeting at the Finance Ministry to find out from him how he did this one. You won’t go and learn, you are still out there, bragging and saying those things out of your empty knowledge. I’m really surprised,” Adongo added.

The Bolgatanga Central MP, who famously called Dr Bawumia an ‘Economic Maguire’, said Ghana has become a star at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) due to the stellar work of Dr Ato Forson. He said Ghana has been singled out for praise for its economic performance alongside Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Adongo praised Sri Lanka’s economic recovery and said even Ghana can learn something from their story. However, he joked that is not even necessary because “we have a better story,”
