I Prophesied King Promise’s TGMA Win and I’ve Seen Black Sheriff Will Win Next Year – Bullgod

Ghanaian music executive, artist manager and media personality Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has named his pick for the winner of the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artist of the Year (AOTY) category.

Speaking on United Showbiz on UTV on Saturday, May 17, 2025, Bullgod said his prophecy of King Promise winning the AOTY award at this year’s event has been fulfilled, proving his credentials as a proper man of God.

To build on that, he said he will prophesy the winner of next year’s award ahead of time so people will know he is a real and legitimate prophet.

“Let me prophesy again, next year Black Sheriff [will win],” Bullgod said. “I’ve already said it. Stonebwoy knew he was not going to win the award this year, so I’m not sure he will be disappointed.”

The former manager of dancehall superstar Shatta Wale also took aim at fellow United Showbiz pundits, Vida Adumtwumwaa and MC Yaa Yeboah, both of whom prior to the awards show disagreed with his prophecy that King Promise would win the Artist of the Year award.

Bullgod said both ladies have embarrassed themselves and soiled their reputations and, going forward, should remain mute when discussions about the TGMA come up.

He said he attempted to steer them in the right direction, but they refused to listen and instead vilified him and Arnold Asamoah Baidoo for correctly noting that King Promise was the one chosen to win the award.

King Promies wins maiden TGMA Artist of the Year Award

The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards came off at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

The awards night ended in history-making fashion as ‘Favourite Story’ hitmaker, King Promise, won his first-ever Artist of the Year award.

King Promise beat out tough competition from reigning AOTY, Stonebwoy, and breakout star King Paluta, all of whom were seen as possible winners of the award.

King Promise, real name Gregory Bortey Newman, was ecstatic over finally winning the award, particularly after losing a tight race to Stonebwoy at the 2024 edition of Ghana’s premier music awards show.
