Don’t Leave My Church Unless You Want to Have A Spiritual Problem with Me – Obinim Warns Congregation

Bishop ‘Angel’ Daniel Obinim has warned members of his church, who he has tagged the ‘Abroso’ family, never to leave the church; otherwise, he will have a ‘spiritual problem’ with them.

Speaking during a sermon delivered over the weekend, Obinim said he has so much power that he does not understand why any person would leave his church to join another pastor or church.

Obinim said it boggles his mind that anyone will leave his church for another church because he cannot fathom what another pastor can do that he cannot do.

He warned his church members that leaving his church will come with spiritual consequences.

“If you’re an Abroso (member of his church), never let me hear you visited another church for prayers. Even members of other churches hear of my wonders and visit this church, so you who is already aware of my powers, what are you going to look for in another church [that I can’t do?]” Obinim said. “If you’re an Abroso and I find out you went to another church, I will have a spiritual problem with you.”

Obinim said church members remain free to visit the hospital or a herbal clinic or herbalist if they need some medical treatment, but other than that, there is nothing any pastor in this country can do that he cannot do to warrant a church member switching churches.

“…I don’t know the reason why you will go elsewhere. Is it for marriage, childbirth, money, healing, or what? Unless you tell me you’re visiting a herbal clinic or a hospital. But another pastor? What will you need from another pastor?” he said.

Despite the perceived controversial nature of the sermon, Obinim’s own church members appeared to have no problem with his warning. The comments on his video were filled with church members praising him for his warnings.

Obinim was recently in the news in another controversial video in which he slashed the prices of his ‘magical’ anointing oil from Ghc 1,000 to Ghc 100, to applause from his church members. Throughout his career, this dichotomy has defined Obinim – outsiders appear to perceive problems with his methods of fleecing his congregation, but his church members always appear happy to follow him, no matter what he does.
