The general secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong has named COVID-19 as part of the numerous reasons the NPP lost in the last general election.

Justin Kodua made the shocking disclosure when he was speaking at the NPP’s “Thank You” tour which was recently held in Kumasi, Abuakwa to be precise.

Justin Kodua claims initially, he myopically thought that a spiritual factor caused the NPP’s loss, however, following Mike Quaye’s report, he realized that he hastily broke a door when someone was about to open the gate.

Despite saying the NPP has no plans of making Mike Quaye’s report known to all and sundry, he decided to share a part with the delegates.

According to Justin Kodua Frimpong, Mike Quaye’s report states categorically that COVID-19 badly affected the NPP in the last general election.

In elaborating on this, Justin Kodua disclosed that because of the Covid- 19, a lot of Ghanaians were so broke that they had no option but to depend solely on alms for survival.

This, according to Justin Kodua made many Ghanaians angry and refused to vote, while others on the other side chose to vote against the NPP party in the last general election which affected the NPP government.

“You will all bear me out that before the 2024 general election, because of COVID-19, there was hardship in the world. The hardship badly affected the election. That is what the committee has said. They said when someone is hungry, no matter what, they will vote against you out of hunger”, he said.

Meanwhile, Justin Kodua stated that plans are far advanced towards rectifying some of these issues ahead of the next election so that in the next general election, the NPP party can once again stand tall among the other political parties.

Reacting to this, netizens have swept Justin Kodua Frimpong’s claims under the canopy, as they claim the leaders of the NPP have been contradicting themselves on the reason why the NPP lost in the last general election.
