The Gospel musician said that before fame, luck, and success found her, she was going through hell.

According to her, apart from depending on alms for survival in the past, she also did menial and blue-collar jobs before she could get something to eat.

She shared how she used to hawk goods such as chilled water, iced cream among others on the streets before she could get something to eat.

Sadly enough, Mabel stated that these goods were not hers, she used to sell them for people and in the end, she was given a peanut from what was obtained.

She said that “The songs I sing are all based on my personal experiences. I have hawked goods on the streets before and done menial jobs. I have been through a lot”.

The musician also shared how she was kicked out of the house at midnight for stealing money which she knew nothing about.

Sharing the story, Mabel Okyere said that because life had beaten her half dead, she had no option but to stay with one of her family members.

She said that the relative had a very stubborn daughter who engaged in evil bedeviling acts.

Mabel Okyere said that one day, she woke up only to find out that the child had stolen money and kept it in her bag.

According to her, after the money was found in her bag, she begged her relative for forgiveness and tried to prove her innocence but all to no avail.

She said that she was kicked out of the house at midnight by her relative for something she knew nothing about.

“The little girl stole the money and hid it in my Ghana must go bag. During a search for the money, to my surprise, they found the money in my bag. No amount of pleading worked. They kicked me out at midnight”, the musician shared.
